The year was 1980 in Atlanta. Two young jazz players were looking out at the crowd from the stage of Alex Cooley's Agora Ballroom, were many famous Artists had played. We thought to ourselves, what an auspicious beginning. We had just won the 94Q jazz flavors local jazz poll award in a jazz fusion band called Windows. This was to set the stage for future collaborations between Billy Davidow (piano) and G. Sherlock Miller (drums).
As we jump to the year 2004, we see that Billy and George have teamed up once again to form the perfect piano jazz trio with the impeccable bass player, Don Martz. Through these many years between, Bill and George have played for many jazz festivals, independent recording projects, and private parties. Don has proven to be the perfect addition to Bill and George’s talents as a multi-instrumentalist with many years of experience in the professional music arena.
Together, they have formed Atlanta's Suburban Knights jazz trio. The band exudes their own exotic blend to the world of jazz. Blues, bossas, ballads and standards are no strangers to these boys! Currently available for corporate parties, weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, anniversaries and other special occasions.
